One of the best ways to begin figuring out the perfect mix is to start looking at samples. But of course, they offer only a small glimpse of concrete’s many looks and many of concrete’s possibilities simply can not be fully captured in a small sample. So, samples should always be looked at as a brief introduction and not as an all encompassing catalog. We have a lot of samples and we are constantly making more. We have many samples utilizing recycled glass. We have samples with crushed granite, standard sand and gravel mixes, beach sand, white sand and an array of specialized technique samples; the list goes on and on. However, designing a custom mix is part of what makes concrete so creatively pleasing, for everyone involved. We are always glad to make a custom mix, so that we can achieve something that is personal and unique. A custom sample, measuring 1 square foot, cost $30. If we proceed with your project to completion we will wave the cost of the samples. It generally takes 2 weeks to produce a sample. Recycled Glass Mixes
The standard thickness of our countertops is 1 ½ inches. Backsplash and other vertical standing pieces may be made thinner but no less than ¾ of an inch. Pieces can also be made to look much thicker than 1 ½ inches but this is somewhat of an optical illusion, as the sides may be 3 inches but the bulk of the countertop is still going to be 1 ½ .
